My First Sketch
What?!? My first sketch?! No, not really.
I used to sketch when I was a kid. I still remember when me and my kuya (now Arch. Isagani Rivera) used to enjoy sketching all over our house wall using our putol-putol na crayola. When I was in high school, I used to win some major awards in painting contest. Thanks to my first year Science Teacher Mrs. Victoria Vargas (I’m sure she’ll remember me) for the encouragements that she gave me to join the On-the-spot painting contest in our school. At first I was so shy and I really don’t want to join. Thanks to her cause she’s the one who insisted me to join.
That was my first contest, and guess what? A beginner’s luck, I won the champion on the first year category and third place overall. I was so surprised because I did not realize that I could win on my first contest ever. Since then I always enjoy participating on different painting contest using a variety of medium. I used oil pastel, poster color, water color and charcoal on different occasions. Sometimes I won, sometimes I loose. That’s how a contests works. For my first sketch after 10 years, here it is:
Tiger Sketch
My last sketch was when I was in college. It was washed with water color and I gave it to my crush then. I believe she like that piece very much. You know why? She still keeps that piece until now. How would I know? She’s my wife now. That was around 1999, and since then, I don’t have any practice sketching.
After I was admitted in hospital due to stress, I realized that I need some time to relax. I really need to forget about work when I am at home because it was so devastating when you feel overworked and underpay. To leave my work at work and feel at home at home, I will now continue my hobby sketching.
I used Adobe Photoshop CS4 for this one using those default brushes in different sizes. Hmmmm… what do you think?

i have always admire people who can draw, paint, and sketch maybe because I don’t have any talent in any of those. i guess, you really must have a great imagination and creativeness within you to even come up with that kind of image at such a young age. keep on doing what you are doing, God bless!
